- Providing grants to allow travel and training and, in the future, to fund research and infrastructure directly;
- Networking, supporting and developing members of individual professions and disciplines through Working Parties;
- Supporting and facilitating collaborative working and project/grant development through Research Topic Specific Networks;
- Conducting audits and surveys and disseminating findings;
- Hosting interactive discussion forums to facilitate networking and allow members to share ideas and get information on research findings and best practice;
- Helping members to network with other researchers and/or disciplines to establish multidisciplinary collaborations in specific areas;
- Practical assistance in writing and submitting funding and ethics/regulatory applications.
