ACORRN - Action Radiotherapy is a new cancer charity set up to support and expand the activities of the existing Academic Clinical Oncology and Radiobiology Research Network (ACORRN). This is a highly successful cancer research network, which focuses on supporting and facilitating radiotherapy research and development in the UK in partnership with other radiotherapy stakeholders.

ACORRN - Action Radiotherapy is the only one of the UK’s cancer charities dedicated solely to supporting radiotherapy research. ACORRN’s main charitable objectives are:

1. To promote, support and encourage research into radiotherapy, radiobiology and allied subjects, and the dissemination of the useful results of such research.
2. To advance and benefit the practice of radiotherapy and its allied subjects to relieve sickness and preserve good health.

ACORRN aims to achieve these objects via a number of routes – concentrating on promoting networking and collaboration between all those involved in radiotherapy research, development and clinical practice. In turn this will lead more applied research, improved dissemination of evidence-based best practice, more efficient implementation and evaluation of new radiotherapy technologies and techniques; in short, better translation of radiotherapy innovations into improved treatments for patients.
